The Invisible Wounds Project invites you to pay tribute and remember the life of Lino Lakes Police Officer Shawn Silvera who tragically lost his life while on duty September 6, 2005.

Join us for the Shawn Silvera Memorial 5K, which is part of the Freedom Fest celebration, raising money for the Invisible Wounds Project. The Invisible Wounds Project is a local MN based nonprofit providing therapy services and other resources for Minnesota’s military, first responders, frontline medical staff, corrections, dispatch, and their families related to mental health, PTSD, and suicide issues.

When: September 23, 2023 – Registration 8am – 5K Run 9am – Daisy Dash 10am

Where: Running Aces Casino, Hotel & Racetrack – 15201 Running Aces Blvd, Columbus, MN 55025

What: Runners/walkers of all ages are invited to participate in this 5K run/walk.

In addition to the run, there is a Public Safety Challenge which pits departments against one another by combining the “best 4 times” from their group to determine the winner of the coveted traveling trophy. (Please note: runners of each team can register individually, team captain must register the team)

There will also be a kids “Daisy Dash” where kids can participate in a shorter run.

After the run, stick around for family friendly activities throughout the day, including Touch A Truck, kids games/activities, vendors, food, the Cruise For Heroes car/truck/bike cruise and show. Also that evening there is a concert with country star Josh Turner!
